My mission is to guide and inspire underrepresented minorities, drawing from the valuable lessons I've learned and the obstacles I've overcome. I firmly believe in the untapped potential within each individual to achieve greatness. Through sharing my personal journey, offering insightful advice and practical tips, and providing dedicated coaching and consulting services, I am committed to creating a safe and empowering environment for underrepresented minorities.
My ultimate goal is to foster greater diversity within the tech industry and unlock a multitude of opportunities for career growth and success.
My Story
For the past 16 years, my professional path has been dedicated to the realm of technology sales. Through unwavering commitment and continuous growth, I steadily ascended the corporate ladder, ultimately achieving the position of VP of Enterprise North America Sales and becoming a valued member of the Leadership team. Throughout this journey, I have made significant contributions, successfully introducing and selling numerous products, driving impactful innovations through cross-functional collaborations, and spearheading the expansion of sales offices and teams from a modest 20 employees to a thriving force of over 125 individuals. These efforts have played a pivotal role in generating an impressive $600 million in revenue during my tenure as a Senior Leader and VP.
However, despite these achievements and promotions, I found myself grappling with a persistent sense of unfulfillment, dissatisfaction, and restlessness early in my career. It was during this time that I confronted microaggressions and battled imposter syndrome, both stemming from the glaring lack of representation in sales leadership. I firmly believe that representation matters! The weight of every underrepresented minority seemed to rest on my shoulders, and I carried the responsibility of ensuring that growth opportunities were not jeopardized by the fear of mediocrity or failure.
This personal struggle served as a catalyst for my transformation into an empathetic and people-centric leader. I developed a profound care for the well-being of my teams and colleagues, honing my skills in building rapport, strategic thinking, and establishing a robust internal brand while holding myself accountable. These experiences have shaped me into a trusted, reliable, and enthusiastic leader.
My guiding principle is simple: CONTROL what you can CONTROL — your Effort, Attitude, and Energy. By dedicating yourself to daily improvement, fostering a can-do mindset, and embracing positivity in every situation, success becomes an inevitable outcome.
